Its admittedly a 2 yr old system, but was working fine till a day ago.
Then it quit cold turkey on me.
Adapter is green and working, battery indicator is full, but pressing power on button does nothing. Even when its accompanied by threats and sweet words !

I discovered that the screws holding the hard disk to the external casing were missing, but disk did not move because the laptop is stationary.

I removed the plastic cover over the power key and the keyboard, reseat all connections and look for anything out of place. Nothing !

I have a lot of stuff on this disk, and the thought of plunking down another grand on a laptop does not appeal.

Any suggestions/ideas are welcome.

i just got same problm with my 1501 yestrday. I started my del laptop with its dead battery. Aftr 2-3 minutes it switched off and then never shows any life. I tried pressing power button for 20 sec. Nothing helping

did u get any solution? My problm is i cant find any dell service centre in my state
