I recently purchased a 42" HD TV and a DVI-D to HDMI cable to hook my computer up to my new TV. I am wondering if there is an adapter to make a DVI-D hook into a VGA connector. I thought the adapter I had would work but it doesn't.

The cable I have is a DYNEX DVI-D to HDMI Cable.

I looked up the connector on my cable and it is a DVI-D single-link(Digital only).

The adapter I currently have is an XFX DVI to VGA connector which looks like this.
