Hi all, I've been given a HP Deskjet 1220c professional series A3 printer - 6 years old. :) I'm very happy...BUT... there's no manual or installation cd!! I have no idea how to install it! I've been told I can download drivers but really don't know how to go about the whole process. Can anyone help? Please use layman's language as I'm not very technically minded!! Operating system Windows XP home. Many thanks!

1220c right? i found it on hp's site. You can download the drivers here:

http://h20000.www2.h...S...&taskId=135

Just choose your operating system, then it will take you to a page which asks you what you want to download. You can simply install just the driver, or the driver with the the software

its entirely up to you (only the driver is required for the printer to work)
i'd recommend this one:

hp deskjet 1220c series printer driver (full printing system, WHQL certified)

That's great, thankyou! Probably a silly question - but do I have to have the printer switched on and usb connected to install the drivers?

well when you install the driver it should tell you to attach the usb and turn it on, thats usually when I do it. But i'm sure it won't be any issue if you already have it attached.
