Windows XP - services.exe terminating -1073741819

Hi,

When i start my pc i get an error message saying services.exe terminating status code: 1073741819
After that a countdown starts and the pc shuts down. When i cancel the shutdown by run-->cmd-->shutdown -a the pc freeze will freeze up after about 5 mins.

On top of that i have lost all connection to the internet because the network adapter isnt recognised anymore. Its still works fine in Windows 7 though. I also get a message saying that my hardware has changed and i have to activate windows within 3 days. I guess this is somehow related?

I tried running combofix but this didnt resolve anything. I have to say that i cant install the windows recovery console because i havent got access to the internet. So that might be why it wasnt effective.

Then i tried to make a hijackthis log. But i cant install it. Not even in safe mode.

My pc has been a bit sluggish in starting up for the last few weeks. Sometimes explorer.exe wasnt loading and i had to start it manually. The reboot message popped up for the first time when i uninstalled the .net 2.0 framework.

This is a bad ideal as ComboFix should never be run without the supervision of a trained Malware Tech advise.
What is saying New Hardware Detected and you need to Activate in 3 days, Windows 7 or XP
Since it looks like your issue started with the possibility of a infection:

I suggest you go to the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the reguested logs in THAT forum. If you are unable to run any of the tools then start a new topic in the malware forum and put this in the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
