I am attempting to refurb an older Compaq for student use. It was donated without a hard drive. We installed a WD 60G and it is recognized by the system I went into BIOS and chose boot from cd as the first boot device. The problem is it dosen't work. It always comes up NO OS FOUND. How do I get the XP HOME loaded? (retail version) :) The computer is a Compaq Presario 5320US.

The CD is fine. I tested it by using an XP PRO install CD and it goes right to setup. Since I need to use a legal copy of XP, I am hoping to get the XP Home loaded.

Now, I don't understand. XP Pro CD loads, so which one doesn't?

I need to use a retail version of XP Home which doesn't load. I think I'll load the Home version on another drive in another pc and then clone it.
