I got sound!!! I checked the PCI slot using a wireless adapter the card worked fine. Then I put the SB card previously in the Gateway into this unit and whala: sound! I'm thinking that my previous failure with the SB Live card was simply an installation error on my part.

Checked some other sites concerning this problem and a number of them talk about finding the right drivers for the mobo?? Anyway, at this point it's only a curiosity that I may or may not pursue.

Thanks for the help. At this point I now have all 3 updates up and running.
