Hello,

I have a 5 month old HP desktop with vista, last night I got a msg saying something like, msnmg problem occured, can't open application... The screen was frozen, so I tried rebooting, now I get a HP Invent screen wit the 4 options - Boot, setup, system rec, diagnostics - But, none of them respond, i tried to restart several times, thats all I keep getting.. what should I do? Will I lose all my data?
Thank you!

Restart computer, and keep tapping F8 key, until this menu appears:

Select Safe Mode.

I tried doing that but as soon as the pc starts, it goes directly into the HP screen and it won't go anywhere else after that...

can I ask u another question about my other computer? (im just soo frustrated) I have 2 pcs now that aren't working... im trying to get at least one to work, I called HP yesterday, they told me to ship it back to them so they can fix it, I also have a dell desktop that keeps shutting down, I tried to reinstall XP and in the middle of the setup, I get a blue screen saying it has shut down to prevent damages to the computer... any ideas about that? Im using my roommate's pc now...

If you have Vista DVD...

http://www.vistax64....tall-vista.html

If you don't have Vista DVD...

1. Create Vista Recovery Disc.

Option 1:
http://www.c4consult...0SOLUCTIONS.htm

Option 2:
Download Vista Recovery Disc iso image: http://neosmart.net/...-disc-download/
Burn it to CD, or DVD: http://neosmart.net/... to a CD or DVD

2. Boot from created disk.
At first screen click on Repair your computer:

This will bring you to a new screen where the repair process will look for all Windows Vista installations on your computer. When done you will be presented with the System Recovery Options dialog box:

After this, it will present you with a list of options including startup repair, system restore and command prompt:

Try System Restore, first.
If that doesn't work, try Startup Repair.

It's better, if you start new topic about second computer, so we won't get mixed up.

Unfortunately none of those options worked so I packed it up and shipped it back to HP. Anyway, thank you for your help. I will do another topic regarding my Dell.
Have a good one ;-)
