itunes problem

i bought a iphone 3g s and have been using itunes 7 ever since i got the phone..worked fine for 3 weeks and the itunes store stopped working about a week ago..when i try to go to the itunes store it says "itunes could not connect to the itunes store, make sure your network connection is active and try again"
i checked firewall exceptions, mcafee, and called itunes support and i cant figure it out.. please help !
