I have a couple of games I play that use a lot of memory, so I kill everything I can so it plays better.

My old anti-virus was easy to kill and stayed dead once it had been shut off. (No, I don't remember what it was. It came with the machine and I didn't know it was something I had to pay for until the "your subscription has expired - pay us if you want new virus info" showed up every time I turned the machine on after owning it for a year.)

Now I have AVG. When I want to play the games, I kill the tray portion and then run Task Manager. The problem is that there are 4 or 5 things on the list that resurrect themselves, no matter how many times I tell them to end.

What do I do?

BTW: I have 2 gigs of ram.

Personally I would uninstall AVG and use AntiVir Personal.
If you are not paying for AVG.

Also try GameBooster instead of manually stopping process'.

Read the features of GameBooster, it's easy to use, start and stop.
