Troubleshoot Adobe Flash Player installation for Windows

Install Adobe Flash Player: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Adobe's Flash for IE: http://www.filehippo...flashplayer_ie/

Adobe's Flash for Mozilla: https://addons.mozil...x/browse/type:7

Web Players (free downloads of all current Adobe Web players for all platforms): http://www.adobe.com...oad/alternates/

From a member of out Tech Staff:

I had a customer with a similar problem recently... it started after she installed AVG. Basically I had to disable the AVG toolbar (in fact I disabled them all - Google, Live, Yahoo etc etc... almost half the screen in toolbars) and then reset IE settings.

That did the trick.

Hi

I don't have any toolbars. There is an error that comes up when it downloads (error - failed to register). I don't know if my javascript is enabled (not sure how to do this). Some people gave me tips of going into the addons and finding shockwave player object to make sure it was enabled but this is not in the addons at all.

Just to be sure what is ie settings?

Anymore help you could give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks

A lot of times, only Javascript is turned off on YouTube. It still says you need Flash.

How do I enable JavaScript in my browser? (Covers all browsers):

Yeah, none of this works for my computer. The download you guys have linked here works...just as it does when I'm on Adobe's crapsite and click "if your download does not start click here" etc...

But when it starts to install, it almost immediately quits. Just freezes.

Doesn't matter what website I go to, what instructions I follow, or what security levels I change. I dropped all security (which really makes Windows freak out) and still nothing. Nada.

Tell you what. You tech guys write a program that works, and I'll let the air out of the Adobe Execs tires?

Until then, THIS computer will have to live on older versions of flash player. That's what I'm trying now.

Ok, youtube doesn't want anything but the latest version.

Ah well, so much for youtube on this computer. Talk about leaving the door wide open for competition with Adobe...

I give up. Spent a month on this. You guys have fun.
