What Drivers have i installed so far?
NVIDIA GeForce Series Video Driver
Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem Driver
Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista
NVIDIA nForce Chipset/Network Drivers
I downloaded these drivers from: http://h10025.www1.h...product=3467448

Name: Pavilion tx1250ea
Operating System: Vista - Home Premium Genuine
Main Problem: Windows Cannot Find Any Networks , it's actually as simple as that, i click the wireless icon on the bottom right i then get the message 'Windows Cannot Find Any Networks'

Look at the image on how Device manager looks. I purposly haven't installed some of the less prioritised drivers, i will do after i hopefully get this laptop finding wireless networks..

I cannot think of ANYTHING that is causing this, Was the connection good before the reformat? Well this isn't my laptop it's my friends, when i took a look at it it's wireless connection was working i then restarted the laptop and then for some reason it wouldn't work so i did a reformat and now it's now even worse. Hopefully it's not a real hardware problem, or if it was hopefully it's something small that i can easily replace!

Cya, and i will reply almost instantly!

Hi There

You WON'T find any wifi networks as you have not enabled any wireless adaptors. Enable and rescan for wifi networks.

How do i enable my wireless adaptor, the wireless switch is blue which means its ON. When its orange it's off. Do you mean enable it as in Control Panel and then search for BroadCom or something

Thanks!

Hi There

From the pic you post there is NO wifi adaptor in Network Adaptors in Device Manager. Either right click any entry in Device Manager and select Scan for hardware changes or update drivers for the unknown device in yellow in Device Manager.

How about if i manually add hardware and i select network adapter and then select the correct Broadcom adaptor do you think that would be a worth it approach because the unknown device i do know what it is, it's just a non-networking driver, i did try update drivers also.

While on the HP site i found something that i haven't installed yet which is: http://h10025.www1.h...r...093&lang=en

And it does say something about 'Enablement' so i will see what happens with this first, before i proceed with the Add Hardware approach

Thanks again.

Ok, seriously annoying & strange

I installed HP Wireless Assitant it then says
Bluetooth: ON (Green Tick)

And that's it, it doesn't tell me anything about Any adaptor.
Switching my Wireless Adapter off (gives me a message that says 'Bluetooth Off' switchign my wireless adaptor back on it then says 'Bluetooth on'

The switch is near the blue Antenna so it is defenently Wireless, but maybe this just means that it's for both. And it's actually the only switch.
