I installed a new motherboard, which is pants. I have no sound, but my old one did and they both run on Realtek AC'97. However, my new one won't play any sound.

It's an ECS 649-M3 mobo, and ECS' website don't display this model. They display the 649-M2. I tried downloading the 649-M2 sound driver, but the file is always corrupt. And so is the driver from Realtek.com.tw.

Please help!

(Probably in wrong place, please move!)

I figured it out. This mobo is old, and it was in my loft. It BSOD's and anything I download is corrupted. The audio port is broken too.

Ah well, I'm buying a new one. Thanks!

rshaffer,

Where else would I go for a community like this?

Thanks again!

There are several online forums available.
I haven't tried any of them as I came here 6 months ago for a infection problem and just hung my hat.
Are you thinking about maybe joining one?
GTG have a great Tech staff academy and the Malware Geek U is probably one of the best training anyone can get.

I would suggest if you really want to help others and don't mind the studying. Then yes please apply.
We would welcome a new malware tech and\or a Tech staff member.
This is a great community and based on family you probably will not find a better group of people to work with.

rshaffer,

I applied before in 2007, but got tied up with life, so I'm reapplying :)

You should really close this thread before it gets any more off-topic!
