"You would run the Easy Transfer program on the machine as it is now."

So what do I click after clicking Easy Transfer?

Once that completes and you are at the "out of box" configuration."

What does "out of box" mean?

You can install all the programs you use.

Why do I install the programs when they are already on my pc?

Also, When do I put the Easy Transfer DVDs in?

I'm sorry for asking all these questions, I just wanna make sure I don't screw up my pc.
Thanks wannabe1 :)

"Next". :) Then just follow the prompts. It's pretty self explanatory.

What does "out of box" mean?

That means that the computer is just the way it was when you first bought it.

Why do I install the programs when they are already on my pc?

You will need to install the extra programs you use that didn't come installed on the machine originally. When you do the recovery, all your programs and data will be "erased". The Transfer will put the data and settings back, but the programs you use will have to be reinstalled. You would do this after the recovery completes and your machine is in the "out of box" condition. You should install the programs before applying the backup so that the data associated with the various applications has a program to associate with.

Also, When do I put the Easy Transfer DVDs in?

After you start the Easy Transfer program for transferring to the new "out of box" machine (with the programs you use installed), you should see roughly the same prompts you do when you make the backup to transfer...only this time you'll be installing them to the machine...not copying them from it. You should be prompted for where the transfer backup is...choose your media and insert the disk or flash drive...whichever the case may be.

No problem with asking questions...that's how we learn.

Okay, I have my documents transfered on my flash drive.

If I format my pc, will I be able to transfer all my files from the flash drive back to the pc?

I should be able to right?

:)

Cleanmypc,

You should be able to transfer the documents from the flash drive to the PC.

Good luck!
