RealTemp only works with Intel CPUs based on either Core or Nehalem microarchitectures

So, it's pretty much worthless, except for some very specific cases....

Well, it's perfect for cases such as this one, where the user has a supported CPU. And, given that Intel owns 80% of the CPU market share, and just about every CPU they currently sell is based on the Core or Nehalem microarchitectures (with the exception of Atom), I'd say that it is your statement that is worthless, rather than the very pertinent software. :)

Alright, well, I waited a few days to make sure it stayed cool, and it looks like the temperatures have decreased, and I haven't crashed since upping the fan speed.
