I recently restored my computer after a huge motherboard failure. I brought it in to a shop where they charged me around 600 bucks for a new case, new motherboard, new processor, more RAM... but now it's been around a month, and possibly just from being connected to the internet, a virus may have ruined my computer.

This guy charged me 50 bucks to install a antivirus program on it that seemed to solve the problem. But now, it's back in full force. Originally, it would only BLACK screen, forcing me to hold the power button and restart it. But NOW!!!! When I turn on my computer, it does its bios business, starts up windows with the logo and the load bar, but the load bar will stop moving and the entire computer restarts back to the bios thing again. It basically loops through this process until I put it out of its misery with a firm finger to its power button.

I dunno what to do. I'm running through the options of gettin a blank disk and burning a Xp boot disk somehow... or buying a new Operating system... Or a whole new computer.

Thanks,
Hera

Can you boot in safe mode?

Upon restart of your computer, hold or repeatedly press F8 until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears. Try regular safe mode.

Since this all has to do with malware.. please go to the Malware Forum and read the stickies located at the top, especially this one.
The guides will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. Then you can post a OTL log in THAT forum. Be patient, the Malware Forum is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual. Only after a three day wait may you move to The Waiting Room where you will be on the top of the list to be helped. A three day wait is 72 hours.. Make sure it has been over that amount of time, or your Waiting Room topic will be closed.

If you can boot into safe mode, be sure to say so in your Malware topic.
If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
