I am desparate to get some help to get rid of this nasty thing which seems to be called QuickSearch bar and which comes under SearchBar.dll or so it seems. Indeed, I have followed all of your guidelines about anti-spyware scans as well as antivirus scan with Norton, but although they could detect it and even give me the exact location: C:\Documents and Settings\Stephanie\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\2TJW14N2\QSearch[1].cab, it just won't die. I tried everything from going to "run" finding the area infected and trying to delete it, to going to "search" and selecting the files and deleting them but it always told me that it cannot be deleted because it is already in use by the system and that it doesn't know what created it. I even rebooted F8 mode but that didn't work either. So I downloaded Hijack This and I am now going to past my log for you to have a look if you would be so kind as to help me, pleeeeeaaaaase
but please know that although I did all these things I really don't know much about computers
