Hi,

I started having problems with my computer earlier this morning. Upon using google, the links redirected me to other websites (advertisements). After a while, a red X bubble appeared in my start tool bar with a pop-up warning me about viruses. Occasionally, another window will open up initiating the download of PC Antivirus 2010, which i x-ed out. I tried to get rid of this by running malware bytes anti-malware and ad-aware, which would open up, run, then dissappear after about 2 seconds. After that attempt, I ran the computer in safe mode with networking and redownloaded the above programs. The computer then blacked out-no desktop icons, tool bar, etc. I restarted the computer (in safe mode and in regular mode and then with different users) and nothing changed. The only thing I could access was the task menu. Right clicking and pressing the windows button did not work. I tried what some of the websites suggested, adding new task-explorer.exe and it would come up with a message, same as after the malware bytes anti malware tried to run "windows cannot access the specifiedd device..."

If any help/advice could be given to solve the problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Before you start a new topic click on this link --> Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, Please read before starting a new topic. This will give you a few preparations to make, as well as instruction for posting your OTListIt2 log.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
