Ah, it didn't work for me. I tapped f8 constantly and first got the boot page where it asks whether from disk or drive etc (without those options). Then after escaping, f8 brought me to the menu where you can choose safe mode and such. Then windows started up.

I can try it again if I missed something.

No try this.
Reboot and try F10
See if that gets you to the Recovery partition.

Nope. Tried f10 and f12. I vaguely remember being at this screen during the first part of this saga on the other thread.

Here

I have the disk taken out now. Should I have it in, or reset Bios to not boot from CD, in order to reach this screen?

You will need to reset the bios so it won't boot to the cdrom.
This may be causing a problem.

Ok, i reset boot priority in Bios to have hard drive first and the disk is out.

f8 still brings me to the screen where safe mode etc can be chosen, and f10 does nothing.

OK well I guess we wait for the other tech. I will keep checking to see if I can find the key combination to get into the Recovery Partition in the meantime.

Try this

Download Windows Recovery Console HERE
Download, and install free Imgburn
Using Imgburn, burn rc.iso to a CD.
Boot to the CD...let it finish loading.
When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
Now when the black screen comes up you should see a prompt that shows
C:\
Type in E and click Enter
Now you should see E:\
Type in Dir and click Enter
You should see something that says
Recovery
Restore

Anything like this?

try this... tap F11 or F10 on startup as soon as you see the logo to access the recovery partition...
you want advanced options and you want to select destructive recovery your hard drive will automatically be reformatted and partitioned and everything will be reinstalled like the day it left the factory...

I can't find anything on the steps to access the Medion Pc recovery partition.
Everything says to contact Medion support.
This being a desktop is making it even harder to find anything.
The only way I see to contact them is to email them from HERE

Hi,

It is a Medion MD 8800 Design PC.

I downloaded and burned that recovery file thing, and will try it now.

tap F11 or F10 on startup as soon as you see the logo to access the recovery partition...

Ah ok. But will this not be minus windows installed? That would be pretty much the same boat as I am in atm. If it means windows would be installed and such, then I am up for it.

Thanks
