Mouse problem

This may sound stupid but bear with me.

When I single-click my mouse it double-clicks, i've checked all the settings and such but nothing is wrong there. It's a Mikomi wired optical mouse plugs in through USB, i've tried other USB slots but nothing changes. Not sure what else to put. Is it just a problem with the mouse which could be fixed through buying a new mouse?

Told you it was pretty stupid
