Every time I start my computer running Windows XP, I get the following messages:

"Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinSit.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

and:

"Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\inf\Other.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

Also, there is a certain folder that almost every time I open I get that message that says "Exploere.exe has encountered a problem and must terminate immidiately..." (the one with the "Send error report" and "Don't Send" buttons). After I click "Don't Send" and the explorer restarts, I get that message from startup ("Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinSit.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.")

I googled WinSit and found a forum page (http://www.frihost.c...s/vt-77939.html) in which I saw a link to HijackThis installation (http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/). I installed HijackThis then ran the system scan and got a logfile, which brought me to this forum. By the way, if I'm at the wrong forum, please direct me somewhere I can get help.
I get it that I'm supposed to upload the logfile, so I did.

Please help me if you can

You're infected...

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Before you start a new topic click on this link --> Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, Please read before starting a new topic. This will give you a few preparations to make, as well as instruction for posting your OTListIt2 log.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
