open your floppy and rename the file wininit.new
restart your computer in dos mode.
put the floppy in the drive, you should be at the A:> prompt
change to c drive (type c: press enter ) change to windows (type cd windows)
the prompt should now be C:\windows> type copy a:*.* press enter
I ASSUME wininit is the only file on the floppy. IF NOT LET ME KNOW 1ST
when you have done this do a dir|more(the | is a pipe command normally below the backspace key with the backslash\)
Is the file wininit.new there ? if yes we will move to step 2.
IF NOT CLEAR OR SURE OF THIS PLEASE DO NOTHING AND ADVISE ME
I WILL TRY AND BREAK IT DOWN FURTHER

So if I say yes, then it overwrites it. Then I attempt to enter "dir|more" and it says "Bad Command Or File" everytime.

if you renamed the file wininit.new it should not have asked to overwrite
anyway did you say yes?

are you sure the file on the floppy is called wininit.new?
