I have a friend's windows xp laptop with media center edition (NOT the one I am on right now) and I found several trojan infections; they are in the wireless network assistant, iexplore.exe, and also attached to some registry keys. I downloaded AVG free and found these. How can I go about removing them without deleting files necessary for the OS to run?

Thanks for any help; I do have internet access, only through the ethernet port; the trojans appear to be rendering the wireless capabilities useless even though the computer does recognize the wireless modem it won't pull any pages.
