IE won't launch

I upgraded to IE 7 and for about the last week IE Explorer will not launch. It does not matter from where I try to launch (quick launch, desktop shortcut or from the program list)it will not start. However when I go to task manager I will show IEXPLORER at least twice and sometimes 3 times but nothing under applications.

Firefox behaves normally. Any suggestions on how to approach this problem.
