I posted a previous message regarding a problem I'm having getting Windows ME to start.

In DOS I can get my emergency backup disk to run and work, but when I do scanreg /restore it comes up with nothing and eventuall I get taken to a screen that reads:

CDR101: Not Ready Reading Drive E
Abort, Retry, Fail?

Does anyone know what my problem could be? I would hate to have to wipe it out and loose all files from my harddrive.

Thanks.

maybe your e-drive data cable is not plugged in corectly. try unplugging the power and data cables from the e-drive and then try restarting.

you might have a serious case of malware or just a plain old nasty worm.
best thing to do is trying to get into safe mode with internet acces and then trying to get a good virusscanner to scan your entire pc.
