One of my friends ram chips went bad (over 7068 errors in memtest after just a few hr) he has 2x 512 mb DDR2 266.7 Mhz but I cant seem to find that anywhere also he has a foxconn MCP73M06 motherboard which I cant even find on the foxconn website. Is there some other type of ram he can buy?

(also im useing cpu-z to find this out is that reliable?)

First thing I tryed "Our System Scanner couldn't make a complete match, but we can still help you find the right memory upgrade." thing is under Foxconn I cannot find his motherboard.

All I can find is that it will take up to 2 gigs of memory total.

Is there any way to get a picture of the MOBO even it takes a couple of pics to get it all?
If there is a model number on the MOBO it would help to get a pic of that also.
Memory slots in a pic also.

If you are just looking to replace the RAM stick, simply buy a 512MB stick of DDR2-533 RAM. It will be, more or less, identical to your old, failed RAM stick (minus the old, failed part ).

I just opened it up M7VMX is written near the bottom and im guessing that means it is the M7VMX series which the pdf i found of the user manuel says 2x 240 pin ddr2 dimm sockets, support up to 4gb of system memory, single channel DDR2 800 (oc*)/667 mhz architecture (oc* : Overclocking).

So that means I can just go pick up a 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 DIMM Memory? Would it work with the 512 aswell or would I need to take that out also does the DIMM matter? btw sorry for not opening it up sooner heres the pdf i found: File

No problem and that answers alot as that model is what kept popping up in my research also.
As Stettybet0 suggested buying one stick of 512 to replace your failed stick would work.
If you want to go that way then follow his suggestion for the type to buy.
I would suggest going with a 1 gig stick or even two if you can afford it.
That decision is up to you and your friend to discuss.
With the price of memory now you could pick up 2 gigs for as low as 30.00 dollars from Tigerdirect plus shipping.
