WRT54G internet not working

Hi, I'm trying to do a wired internet connection, but it won't work. The internet light on the router definitly is on, but I still can't access it on the computer. I've done ip releases and renews and they still don't work. On the status page of the router (192.168.1.1) it shows that the IP address is 0.00 etc. If you have any suggestions, that'd be great. Thanks.
