Hello all

I am new to this so not too much techy words he he

my computer reboots its self - see the event viewer error message

Faulting application avp.exe, version 8.0.0.386, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5755, fault address 0x00010a1b.

Can anyone translate to human speak

First question is are you using Kapersky Anti Virus?
If so disable it and see if that fixes the problem.
AVP.exe belongs to it and is most likely the culprit to your problem.

yes I do use that but i must admit it happen also with norton.

do you recommed not to use Kaspersky completely?

Disable "Restart on error" feature...

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab (Vista: click Advanced system settings).
3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.
4. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.
5. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.


Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.


Download, and install SpeedFan: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php
Post your computer temperatures:

Provide processor info (hold Windows logo key, and hit Pause/Break key to find out).


Go Start>Run ("Start Search" in Vista), type in:
sfc /scannow
Click OK (hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter in Vista).
Have Windows CD/DVD handy (with Vista, most likely, you won't need it).
If System File Checker (sfc) will find any errors, it may ask you for the CD/DVD (rarely in Vista case).
If sfc won't find any errors in Windows XP, it'll simply quit, without any message.

It may be RAM issue, but I'd like to see SpeedFan temperatures.

Download, and install Everest Ultimate Edition 4.6: http://www.lavalys.c...ultimate460.exe
Enter following registration code (Help>Enter product key) to make it fully functional:

(it's all legal, the above version has been recently offered as a free download)
Expand Computer folder.
Click on Sensor.
Post all info from there.

its a desktop

I had a different blue screen this time.

I just had to do a restore back to lunch time.

do not think it like what I installed or I did not install it correctly.

what does the last instruction show?

Is the CPU too hot then?
