I have some video files that are giving me a problem. They are .avi files, and according to the Properties, they are DivX encoded, and I *do* have the DivX codec installed -- however, when I try to play them:

1) The video freezes on the first frame, although the audio continues to play.

2) I get an error message which says:

The instruction at "0x6fcae63a" referenced memory at "0x03a5152c". The memory could not be "read."
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

I have tried playing the files in Windows Media Player 10, WinAmp 5.09, and WinDVD 6, all with the same results (although the quoted bits of hex code are sometimes different).

Any suggestions?

remove the divx codec you are using.

I recomend something like the KLite codec pack.
