I'm trying to install Windows XP Pro after replacing the hard drive. Everything seems OK until it gets to the point of restarting the machine. It hangs and will not restart on its own. I forced it down, restarted, and it appears to be completing the install but hangs during the device installation at 34 min. I have tried numerous time with the same result. I hope someone has some ideas.

Thanks

I tried the procedure you mentioned in your article last night. I think I followed the directions, but it didn't solve the problem. The inf file i deleted was usbport.inf it was the last inf file listed. should I have deleted more than that??

Thanks for your response and help
