firefox just stopped working

Hello there!!!
I'm running Windows Vista(64 bit), i have AVG 8.5 also. For some odd reason 3days ago my firefox just stopped opening.

I double click it and my hour glass pops up for a brief moment and then goes away.
I do Ctrl+Alt+Del and it shows running under my process tab.
I'll end the process and then attempt to open it and nothing happens again...

I'm Very new to the technical side of computers and dont know much about much..
please point me in a direction to get my firfox back to normal.

have IE but it's not as user friendly as FF...
