Hello,

I have a pc which is a HP Pavillion 5300 series that has Windows Vista on it. I bought a Ralink Wireless Lan Card for my pc. What I am wanting to do is be able to take my laptop out of my home with me, such as vacation, etc and still be able to access the internet.

The Wireless Lan Card came with a setup disk, which I downloaded and in my control panel it shows as a program. But, the icon in the bottom right hand corner says Ralink Wireless Card not exist.

Is there anyone that can possibly help me with this problem? I would appreciate it greatly.

Thank You

Putting a PCI Wireless card in your PC does not provide your laptop with wireless connectivity. The laptop needs its own wireless adaptor, either one built-in or one added via the PCMCIA slot - effectively oversized lumps of plastic that slot into an appropriate hole on the front/side of the laptop.
