So I wanted to reformat my WD 120 GB HD to NTFS because I couldn't put a large file onto the FAT32 system. So I went into disk management and formatted it. It took from about 5 PM to about 10 in the morning. So I was a little worried when it took that long. Then once it finally finished, I tried to look at it in My Computer, and it says I need to format it. So I'm formatting again, and I'm just wondering if there is something wrong, is it supposed to take this long, and is there a way to do this quicker. BTW, Im on Vista. Thanks.

I don't know about Vista, but under XP you can select quick format, which takes much less time.

It should have been visible once you formatted it though. You could try rebooting the machine to see if it shows up.

It shows up, but I just needed to reformat. I just thought it was weird that I had to do it twice. It's almost done.
