My laptop either won't download at all or it is incredibally slow, especially at night, so last night I restored the computer to go back 2 weeks and it seems worse. Now, my McAfee says it isn't protecting my computer and everytime I try to scan, fix the problem, or reinstall McAfee it keeps saying that an error has occurred and it won't do anything, so now I still have the same problems and I am unprotected. Please help!! My computer hates me. I have read forums and tried lots of stuff and nothing has worked and I am very computer stupid so please help me like you're helping a child or something. Thanks 8) By the way I have IE7 and Windows Vista.

1. Download COMODO Internet Security for free.
2. Disconnect your computer from the Internet.
3. Remove McAfee from your computer.
4. Restart your computer.
5. Install COMODO Internet Security and Run a full scan and quarantine the results.
6. Go to http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk

This should give you a clear picture of why your internet is slow.

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Before you start a new topic click on this link --> Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, Please read before starting a new topic. This will give you a few preparations to make, as well as instruction for posting your OTListIt2 log.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).

My advice is that before you do a speed test you should have ALL programs closed and no applications open. Specially the ones that connect to the Internet. you should also try doing the test in different moments of the day, because heavy traffic can significantly lower your speed. Check this webs, i trust them when i need a speed test: myspeedtestonline.com , speedtest.net , my-speedtest.com
