Microphone Troubles

Hello. I'm new to the forums. I am having some problems with my microphone. It worked just fine. I use a program called "ventrilo" and wanted to broadcast music on it, so I followed the instructions of a youtube video on how to do it. It instructed me to download winamp and change a few settings. Well, I didn't like how this worked, so I took off winamp, as well as Digital Audio Cable and reverted all of my settings. Now in my ventrilo, I can key up, but no sound. I've test my sound under troubleshoot and it still fails to work. Any ideas?
