I have a Dell Dimension 2400. I am running Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3. I have recently started having the white cursor upon boot up. I looked at the post down the board and tried the sfc /scannow but when it ask me for the Windows disc. I use the one from Dell and it says it is the wrong disk. I went into the Registry and tried to use C:\ as the source disc and that wouldn’t work. I then booted from my cd and was going to do a repair and the white cursor came up. I am wits end. HELP!!!! :)

How did you get into the Registry if you can't boot? Are you able to boot to Safe Mode? If you can, try running System Restore and restore to a date prior to when your problem occured.
