Have to restart twice

For about a year now I have had to restart my computer twice for it to load Windows XP. My boot sequence is correct (, and I don't see any obvious events in the event viewer. But for example if I install an update that requires a restart, I will reboot, but it will just go to a black screen. If I restart again via the restart button on my case, it will boot up fine. The same goes from starting my machine from cold turkey, it will boot to a black screen, I hit restart and it boots up fine.

Any ideas?

Try booting to Advanced Boot Menu and click on I believe the boot log entry.
If the system reboots you should be able to see what is causing the loop problem. It sounds like a driver not starting correctly since it is not getting to windows yet.
