Hello there everybody, have been playing counter strike 1.6 for a while and know i have a very annoying problem. When i walk into a smoke my fps drops to 23. When i am outside the smoke i have normal 100 fps. I have ask this question before in other websites but i don`t find a really good answer. I know my computer is bad but i used to play counter-strike source and when i was inside a smoke it didnt happend anything and my fps was still good. Yeah, my english sucks i know but i hope you can still read and understand. // Peace

Hello

If you have a DX9 card the game should run fine since it's based on DX7. You can get your FPS up by using various tweaks, etc.

First of all, make sure you're running the game with OpenGL rather than Direct3D.

As for the smoke problem:

Type this in console...

max_smokepuffs 1

And use 16-bit color under video options.

Cheers
