Hi, guys,

The computer in question is a Dell, running XP Home SP3 (my dad's). It has a "ton" of internet shortcuts on the desktop.

I ran ckdisk. Now, you can no longer access the internet using the shortcuts. You get the following error messege: This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel.

What have I done to this computer? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

IE shortcuts have .url extension. Re-associate that extension with IE.

Forgot to mention, dad was running Opera as browser. Removed Opera and solved all problems.
