IE opens up 3 windows

Have Vista Home 64 bit, IE7, and when I go to open up a borwser window.. I get three, one with error says it cannot open, one that just has continue in the title line, and then one that actually does connect..

drives me crazy.. how can I make it stop.. :)

do you have your browser set to open multiple tabs at launch? Perhaps changing your homepage to something else might help.

home page is http://my.msn.com and I start computer and click on the big E and get three windows..

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage which url is http://my.msn.com/

continue which is lonked to https://login.live.c...n...014&lc=1033

then finally one that is actually http://my.msn.com/ and opens

Open internet explorer, go to Internet options, advanced. Click reset. After choosing Reset… from Internet Options, a confirmation dialog is displayed, warning the user about settings categories that will be reset during its operation.

Shutdown your browser and try again.

that seemed to work.. minimal resetting setting, but all is good.. so what was issue? anything i can prevent in the future?
