one day my system crashed and when i tried to reboot, i get the error saying windows cannot start because windows32 config system is missing/corrupted so i used the operating system disc that came with the laptop to do a recovery. After the recovery completed, another error came up saying that windows root\system32\hal.dll is missing/corrupted. I have tried to use the OS disc again but it's not doing anything and the error comes up everytime, and the system managed to memorize the data on the disc, so now even without the OS disc, it can go into recovery console on its own if i press F11. Now i want to try to reformat windows but when i put the windows xp disc in, it doesn't read the cd or do anything and will show the error up again. The disc i putted in is windows xp media center sp3 cd. I have set the bios to cd first. Now i don't know if its the problem with the disc, or something wrong with my cd reader, or could there be something wrong with my harddrive? Now i'm at loss to what to do anymore, please and thanks for the help!
