This is a noobish question, but if I boot my computer form the windows XP reinstallation CD, will that erase my hard drive? Will any data be lost?

ALSO: when someone says they "booted from cd" does that mean the winXP reinstallation cd, or the drivers and utiliies cd?

Thanks!

1) Not initially but it can wipe the lot if you're not careful.
2) XP CD, yes.
