Hi

I run on Windows Vista and the only user on my laptop. I downloaded HijackThis and scanned my system. But my log immeidately disspears and sits as an icon on my desktop. When I click on the icon it says that I do not have permission to open the file.

I even tried as Run as Administrator- same message.

I am frustrated as I am trying to open the HijackThis.exe that I need to scan. I am repeatedly getting the error message - windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.

My laptop seems to be infected with the worm W32/Gaobot.worm.gen.u and I am trying to get a log file. Please can somebody respond.

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Before you start a new topic click on this link --> Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, Please read before starting a new topic. This will give you a few preparations to make, as well as instruction for posting your OTListIt2 log.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
