So I had windows media player 9 and i wanted to upgrade it to version 10 (I don't want to use version 11).

I uninstalled media player from 'add/remove programs' and installed windows media player 10 from Microsoft website. After downloading it, media player works fine for a little while but after half an hour or so i get an error that :

'The file wmplayer.exe has a version number of 10.0.0.3802 where 9.0.0.3250 was expected.

The Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.

Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft web site??'

I've tried reinstalling it many times and i get it to work for a little while until i get the same error. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
