Hi there...
I have frequently come to this forum and checked it out, and have fixed many problems due to the topics. I can't seem to fix this one, though.
I went on vacation to California for a week, and during that week my better half went ahead and opened any email he received. He must have downloaded something bad, considering I cannot open any antivirus / spyware programs unless I am in safemode, and when I scan in safemode I am coming up all clear. Windows firewall won't open due to an "unidentified problem" (even in safe mode), and windows update will not let me see what updates there are to install. I cannot do any online scans, whether it be trend kasper or panda. I am going to go insane. Please help.
I was able to run cleanup, so that's done. This is my current logfile.

Like I said before, online scans won't work. It asks me to install the activex control, and when I click on it, on panda it tells me there's been an error, and on trend it simply turns the activex icon into the little white box with a red X in it (failure to load)..Kaspersky tells me there's an error downloading it. I've restarted and tried it, nothing works.

This is my latest hijack this log

Hi Beauty_Can_Kill

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Ewido Trojan’s and malware remover http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
This setup contains the free as well as the plus-version of the ewido security suite. After the installation, a free 14-day test version containing all the extensions of the plus-version will be activated. At the end of the test phase, the extensions of the plus version are deactivated and the freeware version can be used unlimited times. The purchased license code of the plus version can be entered at any time.
Ewido will auto-udate. Don't run yet

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch and delete all the files in that folder.

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure all are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Run ewido fullscan save the log and post it with the other items.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [razin] C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\rm05040901.Stub.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [cowmRjeth] sxsatext.exe

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\rm05040901.Stub.exe
sxsatext.exe

Exit Explorer.

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr[b]. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure all are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Reboot as normal.

We will keep trying the scan till we get them to work.
Please run the following free, online virus scans.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp
[B]Please post the logs From Panda, ewido and HJT.log
We will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.

Hi Beauty_Can_Kill

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Please download and install AD-Aware.
Check Here on how setup and use it - please make sure you update it first.

Download the Hoster from here Press "Restore Original Hosts. and press "OK". Exit Program.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ujobcn] C:\WINDOWS\ujobcn.exe
Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Run ewido fullscan save the log.

ActiveX Controls could do with a big cleanup. Open your browser and go to Tools > Internet Options and click on the General Tab. Click on Settings (next to Temporary Internet Files) and then click on View Objects. Rightclick on each and choose Properties. If there is anything there that you dont know what it is (microsoft, apple, macromedia etc are OK) or where it came from, delete it. If there are any damaged controls there, delete those also. If any are needed, you will be prompted to download them again anyway.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Run ad-aware let it clean all it finds

If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:
Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.
Run killbox and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.
The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.
C:\WINDOWS\ujobcn.exe
Let the system reboot.

We will keep try till we can use the online scan.
Please run the following free, online virus scans.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
Please post the logs From Panda, Ewido and HJT.logWe will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.

Hi Beauty_Can_Kill

Please install firefox

Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox.
http://www.mozilla.o...oducts/firefox/

Post back when you have installed firefox.

Hi Beauty_Can_Kill

Lets try this first.

Install Sun's Java. It's much more secure than Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine .
You can download Sun's newer JVM for Windows at http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html.
http://www.java.com/...load/manual.jsp Windows (Offline Installation)

When done try the panda scan.

Tried it, it said it's already installed, so I uninstalled and reinstalled, tried it again, same message. Says that the application refused the download of the activeX

I was able to run housecall on firefox, but it said no viruses were found
