Hello,

Is it possible to burn an image file(ISO or other) to a flash drive(usb stick)?

Actually, i don't have a CD drive, and I want to burn a bootable cd image to my usb stick and boot directly from it. is it possible? any 3rd party free/paid applications available regarding the same?

Any help in this regard will be great...

Regards,

well....there are two actually....one of them is my windows xp(bootable) and the other one is for an anti-virus for boot-time scanning of pc...

Will there be different technique for different kind of application. I mean, both of them are .iso in the first place...!!

Booting from a USB flash drive is a possibility. There is a pre-requisite though.

The destination or target computer motherboard must support boot up via USB device. This support can be checked via BIOS.

Not knowing what your computer is and how old/new it is, we can't tell you for sure.

You have to enter BIOS, and take a look.

Someplace in the bios there should be a spot where you can change the boot sequence.
You would go here to change it to boot to floppy, boot to CD, boot to Lan, etc.

If it gives something like "boot from USB/ flash" you are probably ok.

What is the make/ model of the computer?
What is the make/ model of the main board?

With that we could try and find a manual on the computer.
