Vista won't boot past startup screen

My Gateway laptop won't boot up past login screen. Just freezes up. Ran tons of scans and got several bad stuff off. Here is the print out of hijackthis:

PS.
It seems to bot just fine in safe mode. I've removed the memory one stick at a time to see if it was a bad memory problem. So far, no luck.

Like I said, it boots up just fine in safe mode, just not in "Normal Mode"

WELL!!!!

Go figure. After running all kinds of software cleaning crap, I worked the problem out

IT's THE BATTERY!!!!

Pulled the battery and powered up and it runs like a charm. Battery didn't hold a charge but didn't put much weight in to that being the problem. Guess it was a voltage issue when starting up. So after reading about pulling parts to trouble shoot, I tried the 2 easiest things to pull, the memory and the battery. So, a $99 battery is in my future!!!!

Ok, after about 2 hours of running, it's now not the battery or the CD-rom.

I'm about to give up on this one. I guess next step is reformat and reinstall.
