I'm new to this whole forum thing. I was running AOL today when I got a pop up, saying that I had a virus. So I ran McAfee and my computer shut off in the middle of it and when I restarted it, my background image was replaced with a blue screen that had the error message on it. I scanned my computer and quarentined all the files hoping that would work and then I went into "properties" hoping to get rid of the blue screen, but I only have two options: "settings" and "screen saver".

I don't know where to go from here. I tried downloading the Hijackthis program thing but it's not working and I tried it several times and it got really frustrating.

If anyone can help me with this, anything would be greatly appriciated. Is there an alternative program I can download to get rid of the blue screen and virus or is "HijackThis" the only one?

Thanks.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp
Please post the logs From Panda virus scan and HJT.log we will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.
