Would like to know how to do it and once it's done, can i take the external hard drive to another computer and still be required to put in a password

Hi, I have tried to do this myself multiple times and all I could find was 3rd party software. If you dont want to compress your files or use 3rd party software, you can't. If you install software, you have to install it on all computers you want to access the files on.
