SIMS 3
When I buy an item or sim or anything from the store, such as the free town, the download manager status symbol goes to a no-entry sign and it says download failed. I have heard that this problem is fixed by updating.
I have the sims 3 version 1.0.631.00001
When I click game updates it says version 1.4.6.00001 is availible.
I have read posts on other sites saying that people have had worse problems after they update, such as the game stop working all together or the game start lagging massively. It is not possible to un-upgrade without a comoplete reinstall.
Should I update the game and risk it? Has anyone got the Sims 3?

Hello Sokka.

All the Sims games have been incredibly buggy, especially Sims 2. I have no idea how long i've spent trying to help people with that game.

There isn't just one answer to this. If you really want to get access to downloads then you'll have to patch it. On the other hand it might break it even more (don't you just love EA patches) but a reinstall doesn't really take that long anyway so you're not really going to lose too much.
