Welcome to Geeks to Go :)

Please check that all your fans are properly spinning, and aren't covered in dust...

And you have checked the VGA cable(or whatever video cable you are using)to make sure it is properly hooked up?

Then please follow the next step

Do you have a video card? If so it may need power from the PSU. Sometimes they operate with power from the board it self, But I don't know due to lack of information...

If this is not the case,

Then please follow the next step

When you boot up the computer try holding down/striking the insert key...

Sometimes it will "reset" the computer...

If that doesn't work I will need to know the make and model of the computer. And I can help you further...

Good luck

Have you installed the CPU power connector? It plugs in near the CPU from the new PSU.

you can get your mobo manual HERE...
if your brother only unplugged the power connectors and not any data cables or anything else...
then you need to connect a power connector for each of the following...
the main power connector...24 PIN
the CPU 4 PIN...directions in the mobo manual
the CPU heatsink fan...directions in the mobo manual
the case switches...(power, reset, HD activity led, 4 pin speaker... directions in the mobo manual
any hard drives and optical drives
and as someone already stated...your video card Aux power if required...

ok, i hooked up my harddrive with one that says sata. It looks like ther is also a 4 pin connector on that, but its not hooked up. My heatsink fan is running, so that should be good. I have a 24 pin on my mobo, and also a 4 prong that is hooked up. But no beep, sounds like its running though.

If you put the old PSU back in, does everything work? It's possible the new one is DOA.
